Bleach allows hair to attain a lighter hue, allowing a simulated blond look whatever the hair color you may have. There is however a very nasty surprise for all who love to bleach their hair, it can irritate your scalp. Most of today’s bleaches work with hydrogen peroxide, a chemical that effectively neutralizes the melanin that gives hair color (this is also the pigment responsible for your skin color). Another thing that is quite irritating, you’d have to bleach and bleach over and over again for hair grows at an average speed of about 1 cm every month so every few months you’d have to get your hair re-done. Too much bleach can irritate your skin, scalp and more that makes hair bleaching quite a hazardous task. Now for something new, Japanese scientists are developing what is being called the “green hair bleach”, a product that does not contain hydrogen peroxide, the active chemical of hair bleach. They are still working on it but assure they would be coming up aith a viable product shortly.
